THE RIVER ANSWERS
by Jude Neale
Ekstasis Editions, 2021

This book contains love songs to strangers and anthems for the Earth. It is a telling of my story as lover, mother, grandmother, friend and feminist. I now feel I am at the stage in my life where all the grief and love I have worn has indeed made me real, like the velveteen rabbit.

I try in each poem to write so that my reader can be surprised, illuminated and ultimately can bear witness to my journey.

I revel in language in all of its angularities. It is a beautiful thing to create a poem but a far more wonderful thing to connect with someone else’s heart and head. I have written each piece with the reader in mind. I hope that these flotsam and jetsam will find their way onto your shores.
